"Kat and Doug have a plan: to love each other forever and open their bakery. To achieve this, they spend their days making cupcakes in their kitchen, but when the oven explodes, they must find other jobs and postpone their dream. As time passes, their ambitions will change, as will their relationship. Will they manage to open the bakery and find their way back to each other?"

Fernanda Frick, author of the graphic novel "Trazos," narrates a story overflowing with heart about loving what we do and not giving up on our dreams. "Here's the Plan" is an adaptation of the award-winning short film of the same name, awarded "Best Children's Short Film" at the Valdivia Film Festival and "Best Chilean Short Film" by the Chilemonos Animation Festival. Additionally, it was selected by multiple international festivals and pre-selected for the prestigious Oscar award."

About the Author

Fernanda Frick (Santiago, Chile, 1991) is an animation director, illustrator, storyboard artist, and comic creator with over a decade of experience telling grounded and emotionally resonant stories. Her work, whether in short films, advertising, or publishing, has been praised for its sincerity, warmth and visual style.Her fourth short film, Here's the Plan, was selected and awarded at festivals around the world, including SIGGRAPH Asia (Jury Prize), CICFF, Anima Mundi, Chilemonos, SANFIC, and the Nashville International Film Festival. It was also long-listed for the 2017 Academy Awards. In 2023, she released a picture book adaptation of the film with Editorial Planeta. Alongside her first graphic novel, Trazos (Planeta, 2019), both books have been read in Chilean schools by students from 6th to 11th grade.She has worked in both 2D and CG animation, including as an Art Director at the US-based studio Nathan Love, and previously led her own boutique animation studio.Her next graphic novel, Raise the Bar, will be published by Dial/Penguin Books USA in 2026.
